SSASS runs completely on the generosity of the community. The students pay nothing for our services. We are a charitable organization registered in the province of British Columbia. Fundraising and donations pay all our expenses. Instructors are all volunteers.

All donations we receive go back into the program. Our largest expense is rent for the SSASS room, followed by equipment upgrades. Sit skis, for example cost about $5000 each.

Silver Star Mountain Resort generously grants all Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers members 50% off their lift passes. In addition, they provide season passes to instructors. We are very grateful for their support.

Carter Classic

Named in honor of our founding member, the Carter Classic is a full day event featuring a side by side dual slalom race. Members of the public register individually or in teams. A SSASS student becomes part of the team. Prizes go to the winners and lunch is served to all. Wild costumes and good times abound. In 2015 over $16,000 was donated by the public!

We have partnered with Canada Helps to accept online donations. Cash donations may be given to your instructor or coordinator and a tax receipt will be mailed to you.
