Come for lessons every week for eight weeks. You can have a 2 hour lesson on a day and time that is convenient for you. You will be paired up with one or two instructors who will work with you for the season. This program is suitable for all students.

About the Lesson

Lessons take place every day of the week. Typically lessons start at either 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM and go for two hours. Towards the end of December, before the season starts, you will be contacted by the lesson coordinator to understand your goals for the season and to select a day and time that works for you. We will do our best to accommodate everyone’s schedule. Sometimes compromise is necessary! As the season progresses you may fine tune this together with your instructor.

Try to arrive 1/2 hour before your lesson. It takes time to get organized and out on the snow, especially if you use adaptive equipment. We have the use of a change room and washroom facilities.

We have our own space in the village with coffee, hot chocolate, a microwave and lots of great company!

What is the Cost

There is no charge by our organization for lessons or adaptive equipment. There are other costs however.

  • BC Adaptive SnowSports You will need to purchase an annual membership from their website.  This provides liability insurance and supports the development of adaptive snow sports both provincially and nationally. More importantly, Silver Star Mountain Resort generously grants you a 50% discount on lift passes and rentals when you present your BCAS membership. So, essentially it pays for itself.
  • Lift Pass You need a daily lift pass from Silver Star Mountain Resort. The cost may be found on their website. Deduct 50% for your BCAS membership. Speak to your instructor before purchasing your pass! There are different passes depending on the lifts you will use. Also 1/2 day passes are available.
  • Equipment – Unless you own your own equipment you may need to rent skis and boots. SSASS will supply all your adaptive equipment at no cost.
