The SSASS learn to race program is a high performance development race program for independent SSASS students with intermediate/advanced skiing, sit-ski or boarding skills who are looking for fun, coaching and challenge.
The program helps students to develop advanced alpine techniques using adaptive methods and focuses on building student independence on the mountain using a race program format.
The race program includes:
Nine weekly Saturday full day coaching sessions at SSMR from January to April. The program is all day with 2 hr sessions on the mountain in both the morning and the afternoon.
Possible participation at All Mountain camps at ski hills across the province.
Interested?
If you can ski unassisted on intermediate (blue) and advanced (black) runs, have the stamina to ski for 4+ hours a day, and want to improve your skiing, we would love to hear from you. Contact [email protected] to determine your eligibility.
Note that the coach to racer ratio is 1:4 so a skier must be able to load, offload and ski independently, and be able to participate in a team environment.
Cancelling a lesson
If the student needs to cancel a lesson it is important to contact your instructor as early as possible but at least before 6pm the prior day.
